USA Dance, WDSF's National Member Body for the United States, has commissioned American Public Television to distribute a slightly abridged and customised version of the 2017 GrandSlam Series to approximately 350 public television stations across the country and all U.S. territories.
When the same was done as a joint venture between USA Dance and WDSF from 6 September 2016, the success was downright phenomenal for what had to be considered an upstart product at the time. The "American Ballroom Challenge" was the reference for public broadcasters.
The "World DanceSport GrandSlam Series" reached 70% of the total market and was present in 39 of the top 50 markets (New York, LA, etc.). Read more here!
The 2017 World DanceSport GrandSlam Series takes the world’s best couples on a year-long journey from the first leg in Helsinki, Finland, to the final showdown in Shanghai, China, with six hour-long episodes capturing their exploits. As the top dancers in Latin and Standard meet up at different locations around the globe, cameras are trained on every step they take.
