Hall of Fame
From 2021 onwards, outstanding personalities in DanceSport will be awarded prizes for their performances. The awards will promote the development of DanceSport by preserving its heritage. Athletes and personalities who made history in WDSF becoming role models
for the DanceSport Community will be inducted into the WDSF Hall of Fame.
Awards are attributed in the following categories:
- The “Hall of Famers Award” is attributed to Athletes. It can be awarded to individuals, couples or teams.
- The “Excellence in Coaching Award” is attributed to coaches, who have a history of forming and developing top couples, teams or athletes.
- The “Lifetime Service Award” is attributed to volunteers, who have sacrificed so much in their lives for the better of DanceSport. This may include but is not limited to adjudicators, chairpersons, scrutineers & contributors.
- The “Outstanding Event Award” is to honour the highest level of event made by organizers for our athletes that helps to showcase the best of DanceSport.
- The “DanceSport Legends Award” is reserved to the pioneers or exceptional performers in DanceSport, who have in some way shaped and sculpted DanceSport.
Nominations are made by the NMB and the Nomination Committee. The Selection Committee collects the nominations and analyses the submitted nominations. It selects three finalists per award for the respective award. Two finalists are selected for the DanceSport Legends Award. These are then presented to the Board of Honors, which selects the winners. A maximum of one winner per category will be selected. Up to two winners can be selected in the category "DanceSport Legends".
The award ceremony will take place at the Induction Ceremony.
