Stuttgart, Germany – August 13, 2024 – The German Open Championship (GOC) 2024 commenced today with a vibrant array of competitions spread across the three distinguished venues from the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle: Beethovensaal, Hegelsaal, and Alte Reithalle. The opening day was marked by exceptional performances from some of the world's most talented dancers, setting a high standard for the days ahead.

WDSF Open Standard Youth
In the WDSF Open Standard Youth competition, Lithuanian duo Pranas Mitkus and Juste Janciunaite emerged victorious, captivating the audience with their precision and grace. Close behind were Jaime Martinez Ibanez and Emmi Brener from Israel, who secured second place, followed by Spain’s Adria Hernandez and Emilija Ulcinaite in third.

The WDSF Open Solo Standard Female Junior I competition featured outstanding young talent. Natalia Simo from Spain took first place, showcasing her elegance on the dance floor. Yang Anqi of China secured the second spot, with Wu Chia-Hsuan from Chinese Taipei finishing third.

WDSF Open Solo Latin Male Juvenile II
Germany's Mark Avtushko triumphed in the WDSF Open Solo Latin Male Juvenile II competition, delivering a dynamic performance that earned him first place. Fellow German Weimann Gabriel and China’s Yang Hang completed the top three in this energetic event.

WDSF Open Ten Dance Junior I
The WDSF Open Ten Dance Junior I event saw a strong showing from Kristiyan Donchev and Martina Kondaklieva of Bulgaria, who took first place. Moldova’s Daniel Martiniuc and Sophia Ivanova claimed second, with Ukraine’s Danyil Dronyk and Victoriia Melnyk rounding out the podium.

WDSF Open Ten Dance Junior II
In the WDSF Open Ten Dance Junior II competition, the German pair Yigit Bayraktar and Lukrecija Kuraite took the top spot, followed by Romania’s Sabin Alexandru-Marian and Dediu Alessandra Maria in second place. Another German duo, Kiril Denius and Jana Milicevic, finished third in this competitive event.

WDSF PD Super Grand Prix Latin Adult
The WDSF PD Super Grand Prix Latin Adult competition was the highlight of the day, with Latvia’s Marts Smolko and Tina Bazykina delivering a stellar performance to take first place. The Moldovan couple Sergiu Maruster and Anastasia Stan secured second, while China’s Li Mingxuan and Zhou Wanting finished third.
