U-21

A motion to change Rule 11 of the WDSF Competition Rules was presented by Estonia, Iceland, Latvia and Norway. The four National Member Bodies sought to amend the age division in international competitions and championships further, with the aim to extend the cycle for youth to dance in a separate age group prior to moving on to compete in Adult.

The 2011 General Assembly adopted the new age group as Under-21, comprising the ages from 16 to 20, initially for open competitions only. As per "Age Groups 2012/13", athletes are eligible to compete as "Youth" and/or "U-21" if they were born in the years listed below.

World U-21 Latin

The first ever WDSF World U-21 Latin will be staged as part of the Aarhus (DEN) Dance Gala on 22 April. 55 entries have already been confirmed for the inaugural edition. With the championship being open - and the entry deadline being some days away (30 March) - the participation is bound to increase further, no doubt.
