Tokyo Revisited

After the "Rogers Cup" and the Tokyo Open have been regular GrandSlam Series fixtures for many years, their 2013 edition will see two World Opens play out in the Japanese capital.

The Japan DanceSport Federation (JDSF) had to renounce from committing as a host to GrandSlam Series competitions for the period 2013 to 2017. Lining up a host broadcaster for five  consecutive editions proved to be too difficult.

Instead, the seasoned JDSF organiser decided to stage World Open competitions in Standard and Latin.

The Standard World Open takes place tomorrow, Saturday, and the Latin on Sunday. Participation should again be very international as the organisers offer two nights of accommodation and breakfast to all couples from abroad.

The traditional venue - the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium - has also been changed in favour of the Ota-City Gymnasium.
