Team Germany celebrated in Mülheim an der Ruhr (GER)

Two of the crown jewels of the WDSF DanceSport calendar each year, the World Latin Championship and the World Show Dance Latin Championship, offered beautiful dancing, exceptional partnering skills, and almost touchable determination among the couples to demonstrate their very best. The beautiful setting with highly complimented music selection made sure the couples on the floor could do what they did best: to dance, to express and to impress.

The 2022 WDSF World Championship Latin started with 65 couples around the world, who travelled to Mülheim an der Ruhr to conquer the floor and to challenge the defending World Champions, Marius-Andrei Balan – Khrystyna Moshenska (GER). Five rounds later, the results showed that even though the efforts of the challengers were great, the one couple on the top of the podium was, once again, representing Germany. Balan – Moshenska defended their World title with great success and the German crowd received what they came for.

The final was great. Every couple pushed and left everything on the floor leaving the spectators give standing ovations to all. Charles-Guillaume Schmitt – Elena Salikhova (FRA) were awarded World Championship silver medals, and Edgar Marcos Borjas – Alina Nowak (POL) the bronze medals. The final rankings were completed by Guillem Pascual – Diandra-Aniela Illes (ESP), Yan Bangbang – Du Yujun (CHN) and Ionut Alexandru Miculescu – Andra Pacurar (ROU) on the places from 4th to 6th in respective order.
