November 2012
As everyone has grown accustomed to by now, the competition calendar was again packed with top-tier events taking place in November. Five World Championships were scheduled throughout the month. Four of them were covered extensively by television and online.
German public broadcasters MDR and SWR produced, respectively, the WDSF PD World Latin in Leipzig and the World Formation Standard in Ludwigsburg.
WDSF television partner IEC in Sports was in charge of producing the international signal – which was available as a live stream on this website – from the World Ten Dance in Oslo, NOR.
Last but not least, Austrian public broadcaster ORF covered the World Latin in Vienna, with a stream also going up on this site only hours after the final.
And a premiere in terms of broadcasting DanceSport worldwide: the GrandSlam Standard Platja d’Aro, ESP, aired live across Europe and Asia on Eurosport and Eurosport Asia. The pan-European/Asian sports network was very satisfied with the co-production between WDSF Communications and ATA Productions, and negotiations are currently underway to have the GrandSlam 2013 Series carried by the broadcaster.

Traffic to the WDSF website and a championship blog was higher than ever before for the World Latin in Vienna. 25,000 unique visitors per day established a new benchmark for website traffic. Average time spent on site was a remarkable 15 minutes. The number of videos viewed on a single day through the WDSF YouTube channel exceeded the previous record established with last year's World Latin by a margin of 110%: 150,000.
