Kaohsiung | A DanceSport Capital

WDSF President Carlos Freitag and First Vice-President Lukas Hinder met with the organisers of The World Games 2009 Kaohsiung in Québec, CAN, during the 2012 SportAccord Convention.

Kaohsiung, TPE, was the Host City to superbly organised World Games in 2009. Three years after this memorable event, city officials are keen to perpetuate their reputation as an acclaimed sports city further, and they are attending the convention of world sports to enter into a dialogue with International Federations about international competitions to be staged there over the years to come.

That the Kaohsiung representatitves singled out WDSF for their discussions has much to do with the fact that DanceSport shattered all records for attendance and revenue during The World Games 2009 - and that against stiff competition from Olympic sports such as gymnastics and rugby!

Over the coming weeks, a WDSF delegation will travel to Taiwan to discuss several options to organise a very high-profile event in the southern port city in the near future. Stay tuned!
