Finnish Open Changes

Helsinki, FIN - 19 March © Egli The 2018 GrandSlam Series gets underway with the first leg held in Helsinki, FIN, on Saturday 3 (Standard) and Sunday 4 (Latin) March. The two top-tier competitions will again be embedded into the Finnish Open, which takes place from 2 to 4 March. Business as usual, you could say. But there are a few important changes this year: the Finnish Open is relocated to a new venue, the Vantaa Energia Areena, and the Airport Hilton turns into the official hotel for the period.

Aside from the GrandSlam, the Finnish Open will host other international competitions for all age groups: a WDSF Open Ten Dance, Rising Stars (LAT/STD) and different Opens for Seniors II, III and IV scheduled on Friday 2 March. International competition for Professionals, Youth, Senior I, Junior and Juveniles are schedule on 3 and 4 March, concurrently with the GrandSlam

Only WDSF Adjudicators will serve at the competitions and each panel will consist of maximum one judge per country.

Glamorous evening galas complement the programme on Saturday and Sunday, with live music courtesy of Eurovision Song Contest winner Dave Benton and his "Best Band."
