B-girl AT is currently packing her suitcases for Buenos Aires, where the Finish dancer will support the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in her dual role as Athlete Role Model (ARM) and judge of the first Breaking event at an Olympic event.

AT lives in Helsinki and represents the world-famous Flow Mo Crew. She also manages different dance projects such as the Bboy/Girl Dojo, a popular online tutorial website.

“As a YOG Athlete Role Model I will do my best to inspire and encourage the young athletes and share my experience with them,” she says. “I’m looking forward to attending all the events possible during the Games.”

In Buenos Aires, the ARMs will play a key role in supporting and mentoring the nearly 4,000 young athletes participating at the Games. All ARMs were selected by the International Federations in the 32 sports that appear on the YOG programme in Buenos Aires. Joining AT as an ARM for Breaking will be b-boy Moy from the United States.

During the YOG, Moy and AT, together with their fellow ARMs from other sports, will be accessible to the athletes in the Youth Olympic Village and during a series of educational activities and workshops. In addition, and on the initiative of the WDSF, Moy and AT will also give breaking workshops to kids and young people at a local community centre in Buenos Aires in order to share the YOG spirit and the joy of dancing.

AT is keen to get to know the local environment: “It will be my first time to visit Buenos Aires. I’ve heard it’s a beautiful city so I’m looking forward to explore as much I can.”

In addition, AT and Moy will serve as judges during the four days of Breaking during the YOG.“I’m expecting to see high-level battles and a lot of passion for the dance,” says AT. “I’m also happy if the young dancers in the Games can inspire the next generations to start Breaking as well.”

The 1vs1 battles will be held on 7 and 8 October, while 2vs2 mixed-gender battles will take place on 10 and 11 October. You can follow all the action live on www.breakingforgold.com or on www.olympicchannel.com. For the latest updates, join us on Facebook and Instagram.
