At the Canterbury Arena

DanceSport New Zealand

World and European champions competed in Standard, Latin and Salsa championships on 1 and 2 September in Christchurch, NZL. Dancers from around the Asia Pacific rim competed in the Asian Pacific DanceSport Championship and in the WDSF International Open DanceSport Championships.

The calibre of dance was unprecedented for New Zealand. Evening sessions featured shows under superb light and sound performed by PD standouts Paolo Bosco – Joanne Clifton from Italy as well as World Salsa Champions Liz Lira – Csaba Szirmai from the USA. Add to this the 31 August performances of HipHop World Champions ReQuest from New Zealand and much, much more, and you will agree that the Canterbury Arena in Christchurch would have been the place to be at over the past weekend.

Singapore's Robert Ong was and he sent us a few photos of the finalists in the Asian Pacific Championships - plus of the two floorshows by Paolo Bosco – Joanne Clifton, ITA and by Stefan Green – Adriana Sigona, NZL.
