WDSF President Shawn Tay Congratulates Kirsty Coventry on Her Election as IOC President

A highly accomplished athlete and respected leader, Kirsty Coventry is Zimbabwe’s most decorated Olympian, with seven Olympic medals (two gold, four silver, and one bronze) in swimming, achieved between 2004 and 2008. Since 2018, she has served as Zimbabwe’s Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts, and Recreation and has played an influential role within the IOC, notably as Chair of the IOC Athletes’ Commission from 2018 to 2021.
Her election marks a new chapter in Olympic history, and the WDSF looks forward to working closely with President Coventry and the IOC, supporting the Olympic ideals and contributing to the continued growth and recognition of DanceSport on the global stage.
