2025 WDSF DanceSport Festival at Blackpool’s Iconic Winter Gardens
Ask many of the “legends” in Standard and Latin dancing about their favorite halls, and Blackpool often emerges as a cherished memory. Adorned with glistening chandeliers suspended from high ceilings, the venue’s graceful theater architecture enhances the acoustics of classic songs played by the Empress Orchestra. The venue is undeniably beautiful and revered.
Today, in a symbolic celebration of the rich culture of Latin and Standard dance, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) is proud to announce the 2025 WDSF DanceSport Festival at the historic Winter Gardens in Blackpool, England.
Following the groundbreaking introduction of DanceSport Breaking at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, this event not only marks a return to one of dance’s most iconic venues but also illustrates the ongoing growth and strength of the WDSF. With a wide range of competition events planned — including the first Grand Slam Series of the year, alongside Rising Stars, Professional Latin and Standard categories, the WDSF is poised to organize a grand event for our dance community to enjoy.
This project will be headed by the WDSF Vice-President for Sports, Nenad Jeftic, assisted by WDSF General Secretary Nifontov, under supervision by the WDSF President, Shawn Tay.
The WDSF continues to celebrate the vibrant intersection of sport and culture, with deep appreciation to dance’s historical roots.
