Southern African DanceSport Federation Festival

RSA Footballers Dance

All DanceSport associations in Southern Africa - Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe - unite in the first ever festival from 25 to 27 March in Gaborone Botswana.

A facebook event page for the DanceSport festival shows that anticipations are high across the region.

"This is Swaziland's PRO ... On behalf of team Swazi, we are ready and looking forward to a lot of fun and dance over there," writes Sammy Msibi, the public relations officer of the Swaziland DanceSport Association.

Sammy also ensured that the local press took up on the event and published articles on the Swazi contingent traveling to Gaborone. With ambitions as high as their anticipation! The Swazi Observer reports below. Having as active a PRO as Sammy Msibi, it shouldn't surprise that DanceSport outperforms football in growth and popularity among young people in Southern Africa.

Local Dancers Promise Gold in Botswana

The Swaziland Dance Sports Association promised to bring home gold medals from the Southern African Dance Sport Federation Festival to be held in Botswana next weekend.

According to the association’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sammy Msibi, they were impressed with the performance of their young dancers during the recent intervarsity games held in Botswana a fortnight ago.

Msibi sounded optimistic that the 21 couples that have been selected to represent the country in Botswana will perform to expectations.
