Off To The Indian Summer

Boston, USA - 9 October © Goetz WDSF Communications Commission chair Heidi Goetz files her final report from the American DanceSport Festival that was held from 8 to 9 October on the campus of the University of Massachusetts in Boston. It covers the 2016 World SEN I Ten Dance and with it, Heidi signs off as U.S. correspondent. She and husband Hermann now set out to enjoy the Indian Summer in New England.

2016 WDSF World DanceSport Championship SEN I Ten Dance

The title goes to Spain! After having been 3rd in 2013, 2nd in 2014 and 2015, the highlight followed in 2016: Ruben Viciana Lopez and Eva Moya from Spain took first in the World SEN I Ten Dance.

23 couples entered to this World Championship. They entered themselves, through their national MB, because it was an open World as well. Due to time restrictions for using the hall on the UM campus, but also paying respect to the couples by  granting them a short but dignified Opening Ceremony, the competition was conducted in 3 rounds.

 The other finalists:

2. Michal Mladek – Sarka Hesova, CZE

3. Simon Sorin Dumitru – Constaniescu Florentina, ROU

4. Frederick Roesler – Janine Rusher, GER

5. Salvatore Calio – Agata Maiorana, ITA

6. Peter Psenak – Drahoslava Psenakova, SVK
