IDSF Grand Slam Latin in Stuttgart

Alexey Silde and Anna Firstova, RUS © Helmut Roland Standing ovations for the first time at this year's German Open Championships in Stuttgart for the finalists of the IDSF Grand Slam Latin. 336 couples had started the day before, six danced the last round to a full house on Thursday evening. The two solo dances were the Rumba and the Paso Doble. The audience expressed its appreciation of the performances with lots of spontaneous applause.

The four top couples from the 2009 World Championship Latin maintained their places in the same order they had established in Maribor, CRO.

Alexey Silde and Anna Firstova, RUS, won all dances except the Paso Doble. It was won by the runners-up Zoran Plohl and Tatsiana Lahvinovich CRO. The bronze medal went to Anrey Zaitsev and Anna Kuzminskaya, RUS, ahead of Martino Zanibellato and Michelle Abildtrup, DEN, who narrowly failed to make the winners' rostrum but received the loudest applause from the audience.
