Germany Wins

2016 DSE European for National Teams © FEBD On Easter Sunday 27 March 2016, the inaugural edition of European Champonship for National Teams was held under the auspices of DanceSport Europe (DSE) and during  the D.O. World DanceSport in Cambrils, ESP. DSE President Luís Vaño thanked the World DanceSport Federation, the Cambrils organiser Antonio Mas and the DSE managing board for their help in making this championship happen.

Ten European countries fielded a team consisting of three Standard and three Latin couples each, one per style in the age groups U-21, Adult  and Senior I. The  Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Rumania, Slovakia and Spain participated. A unique atmosphere of mutual support and friendship surrounded the  performances of all couples. The title of the European National Team Champion went to Germany, second place to Romania and third to Spain.

After the successful première, WDSF President Lukas Hinder wrote to Luís Vaño, his counterpart at DSE: "I would like to congratulate you on the success of the European National Team Championship on 27 March in Cambrils, ESP. I think it is highly positive that DanceSport Europe looks for innovative ways to add depth to a consolidated competition calendar."
