2024 WDSF World Championship ShowDance Latin
Carmen gave the second World ShowDance Latin title for Aka Modebadze and Gvantsa Tsikhelashvili (GEO)
It was a highly anticipated evening in Burgas, Bulgaria, last weekend, when the eleven precisely and beautifully executed ShowDance Latin choreographies were to be performed at the 2024 WDSF World Championship ShowDance Latin
On the floor, the excitement peaked as each couple demonstrated world-class Latin dancing skills combined with high-level artistry and captivating storytelling with their choreographies, which led the spectator stands feel the emotions and live in the moment of each performance.
Aka Modebadze together with his partner Gvantsa Tsikhelashvilihad prepared a passionate and aesthetic performance inspired by the famous opera piece “Carmen”. The on-point execution, dancing, and gravity-defying lifts with the carefully designed attire led the Georgian couple to win the title, repeating their success from previous year and earning them their second World ShowDance Latin title in a row.
Kairat Algadaev - Julia Seleznyov (USA) had a really tight competition with Boris Borisov - Emiliya Dzhelebova (BUL) and Vinzenz Doerlitz - Albena Daskalova (GER) for the silver. It all went to the finest details and to the tiniest differences, which made the announcement of the final ranking to reveal the American couple to win the silver medal, the Bulgarian couple to win the bronze medal and the German couple to be left out of the podium but securing the fourth place. The difference in scores between these three talented couples and performances was only 0,054 points proving the competition was extremely tight and exciting with their different yet mesmerizing stories.
Robin Goldmann - Stefani Ruseva (GER) and Robin Matejka - Nicol Cupalova (CZE) earned their spot on the final round of the Championship with their polished performances, which awarded them the fifth and sixth place, respectively.
As the lights went down at the end of the day, the 2024 WDSF World Championship ShowDance Latin unwinded the win-win situation it just had produced.
While the spectators were able to live moments of joy, sorrow, and happiness, the stars of the evening were able to inspire and to be inspired by others. It all happened together, as a big DanceSport family.
