Historic debut of the WDSF Open Breaking Team 3 vs 3 Mix at The World Battle in Porto
Porto, Portugal – August 30, 2024 – A historic chapter was written today yesterday at The World Battle festival in Porto with the debut of the WDSF Open Breaking Team 3 vs 3 Mix event. This unique competition format, featuring teams of one female, one male, and one athlete under 18, highlighted gender equality and youth participation, marking a transformative moment in the world of DanceSport.
Team Japan A emerged victorious with an electrifying performance by B-Boy Shigekix, B-Girl Ami, and B-Boy Ra1on. B-Girl Ami, the recently crowned Olympic champion at the Paris 2024 Games, demonstrated her world-class talent once again. The Ukrainian team, composed of B-Boy Stimul, B-Girl Stefani, and B-Boy Raptor, put up a fierce fight to secure second place, while Team Japan B, featuring B-Boy Hiro10, B-Girl Ayumi, and B-Girl Cocoa, showcased incredible skill to claim third, taking home the bronze and a second medal for Japan after defeating Straight Outta Taipei, from Chinese Taipei.
This inaugural event not only celebrated the athleticism and creativity of breakers from around the globe but also set a new standard for inclusivity and innovation in DanceSport. WDSF is dedicated to building on the success of this groundbreaking format and continuing to push the boundaries of competitive Breaking.
