WDSF World DanceSport Games 2013 25/01/2013

World DanceSport Games

During the recent Presidium Meeting in Barcelona, ESP, WDSF Sports Director Marco Sietas briefed the members on progress in the preparations for the World DanceSport Games this September.

The Sports Director presented the detailed schedule of these Games. It will be published on this website soon. There was much discussion about how to manage and control costs, particularly the costs of airfare, in order to provide the greatest possible benefit to  athletes from the fixed amount of funds which the organisers very generously made available to WDSF.  Travellers should not purchase airfare to Kaohsiung without prior written advice from the Sports Director.  The meeting also noted that the adjudicators’ and other officials’ fees, if any, must be paid by the relevant governing world federation, e.g. by either WDSF, WRRC, UCWDC or WBTF.

Sports Director Sietas will travel to Kaohsiung to meet with the Organising Committee (KOC) next week.  After that, the WDSF Managing Committee will try very hard to provide advice about how athletes’ and adjudicators’ and other team members’ costs will be paid, and how much of those costs will be paid, by the KOC’s funding.

The WDSF World DanceSport Games 2013 Kaohsiung are on facebook since today. Give them the thumbs up there!
