Learn from World Champions! 24/05/2011

DanceSport Academy In August 2010, the IDSF DanceSport Academy released the first two Syllabus DVDs as part of its mission to serve as a knowledge repository and state-of-the-art educational platform for DanceSport. Rumba and Viennese Waltz were the first two dances covered.

  • The Rumba DVD is presented by Barbara Nagode Ambroz and features as demonstrators Zoran Plohl and Tatsiana Lahvinovich.
  • Michael Herdlitzka presents the Viennese Waltz; Simone Segatori and Annette Sudol are the two formidable demonstrators.

In 2011, the Academy will produce at least two additional DVDs, one Latin, the other Standard. While some of the details - what dance, who presents? - are still to be firmed up, one thing is certain: the two 2011 IDSF PD World Champion couples will be the expert demonstrators. Alexey Silde and Anna Firstova, RUS, will demonstrate a Latin dance; Paolo Bosco and Silvia Pitton, ITA, will do the honours in Standard. Targeted release dates are August and December.
