Jefferson Benjumea - Adriana Avila, COL 03/02/2014

Jefferson Benjumea - Adriana Ávila, COL © COC We had high hopes for the international DanceSport community to submit their votes for  Jefferson Benjumea and Adriana Ávila, COL, in the election of the World Games Team of the Year 2013. Somehow it didn't work out.

Winners were the gold medalists in Flying Disc from the USA with 16,744 votes. The women's Tug-of-War team from Chinese Taipei came in second with 13,945 votes. The Korfball team from the Netherlands was placed some distance behind in third place with 3,574 votes.

Jefferson and Adriana came in seventh with all of 497 votes - but still ahead of the Cuban softball, the South African rugby and the Chinese aerobic gymnastics teams.

Maybe it was because Jefferson and Adriana appeared under their second family names Molina - Merolanda on the ballot. Click here!

In any case, much more community support is in order for the next elections that DanceSport athletes are involved in.
