Report by Andrew Miller
For the second time in two weeks I find myself back in Poland, this time deep in the green and beautiful Polish county side in the town of Zabrze for the 10th Anniversary of the Zabrze International Dance Festival, held in the Pogon Sports Hall, although
it is not a modern building it is full of atmosphere and very spacious, with a large specially laid dance floor, lighting brought in for the occasion, and a large warm up and seating area for the competitors.
The adjudicating panel who consisted of:
Waldemar Ziomek (Chairman) - Poland, Karel Bank - Czech Rep, Vytautas Bankouskas - Lithuania, Andrzej Dominiak - Poland, Petru Gozun - Moldova, Petr Horacek - Slovakia, Sergej Martynenko - Russia, Petr Odstrcil - Czech Rep, Oleg Petrovskyy - Ukraine, Peter
Pfluger - Austria, Alberto Pregnolata - Italy, Guy Rosen - Luxembourg, Zolten Sandor - Hungary, Philip Nicholas - Australia, Marek Trzemzalski - Poland, Franciszek Witos - Poland, had the unenviable job of coming up with the results.
With 35 couples entered for the IDSF Open Standard, it was always going to be a close run thing, and that was exactly how it turned out with Musioł Krzysztof, Kozłowska Katarzyna from Poland the victors.
