Azerbaijan: Spelled Properly? 20/04/2010

Ever wondered about the purpose of the IDSF Registration and Licensing System which is in use since January 2010. Well, here's one:

Kamil Quliyev – Alina Qontareva

Since we’re working off a questionnaire which was – supposedly – completed by Kamil, 17, and Alina, 16, themselves, we’re assuming that the above is the proper spelling for their last names. While doing our ”www research” we came across alternative (Armenian?) spellings too. On idsf.net, dancesportinfo.net, even in their national media:

Baku hosts Azerbaijani Championship in DanceSport

From there we learned that the two - as Kamil Guliyev and Alina Gontareva – placed first in Latin as well as Standard at their National Championship a few weeks ago.

And here’s some of the other information Kamil and Alina filled in for us:

“When it comes to the proper spelling of names, the IDSF Registration and Licensing System will have to sort that out … one day!”
