Throwing In The Hat

Breaking RB BC One © Red Bull The first stage of qualifying for the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games is open to anyone: no license or membership in a national or international organisation is required. The Australian Olympic Committee describes the process in detail here and refers to a national competition held on 23 April that aims to launch it nationwide:

The 2017 Australian Dance Cup, endorsed by DanceSport Australia, will help launch the search for Australia’s best breakers by giving b-boys/girls the chance to rise to their best in front of a huge crowd at Surfer Paradise on the Gold Coast.

The Australian Dance Cup on April 23 will provide the perfect opportunity for dancers to experience a high-quality competition and elite judging panel which will encourage athletes to perform at their best; therefore creating a qualification-worthy video to submit to the WDSF.

The top-three place getters at the Australian Dance Cup will also receive their videos from the event organisers to submit for qualification on their road to Youth Olympic Games selection.

Head HERE for more information on the Australian Dance Cup.

However, if dancers are unable make it to the Gold Coast to compete, they can still submit their personal video for judging. More information regarding the qualification process can be found HERE.
