The World Games 2013 Cali, COL
Ever since the launch of the countdown to The World Games 2013 Cali earlier this year, DanceSport has gained even more prominence in the host city Cali. Already considered the world capital of Salsa, the organisers together with the Colombian DanceSport Federation have upped the profile of Latin and Standard in Cali too.
Demonstrations have been held around the city, in shopping malls and at fairs, to promote DanceSport.
Over the coming weekend, Joan Cayuelo, ESP, an expert trainer dispatched to South America by the WDSF Membership Commission, will conduct an adjudicators' training course in Cali for candidates from around the country.
Organised by the Colombian DanceSport Federation, the local CDSF member and the Cali 2013 Local Organising Committee (CLOC) the course will be held at the National Sports School. The future adjudicators are getting prepared for the next DanceSport highlight scheduled on 21 and 22 July.
The tournament "To Heaven's Rhythms" held on these days in Cali serves as a World Games test event and includes several National and Latin American Opens. The CLOC staff, the World Games volunteers and the new adjudicators will get to test their systems on athletes from all over Latin America.
