#Sochi2014

Sochi 2014 The details continue to be kept top secret, but at least some information is now available on DanceSport's involvement in tomorrow's Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

Among the 2,500 people who participate in the show part of the ceremony are ballet dancers of the Bolshoi and the Mariinsky Theatre. 400+ DanceSport athletes who were selected in nationwide castings by the Russian DanceSport Union are also part of the contingent.

With all participants sworn to secrecy about their involvement, it can only be speculated that they participate in some of the performances tied to images of "Imperial Russia" ... But it's all speculation. What is known: the 400 have been practising and rehearsing for a long time. A first practice session was scheduled for two weeks in December. A second session started on January 4 and is - as of today - still in progress. Another confirmed fact: the ceremony costs some 40 million roubles!
