Seven Years Ago

The World Games 2009 Kaohsiung were an important milestone for DanceSport and WDSF - which was still conducting business as IDSF at the time. They were also a highly memorable event for all of DanceSport's participants: athletes and officials alike.

After two days of competitions in front of sell-out crowds of 13,000 at the Kaohsiung Arena on 24 and 25 July, everybody was invited for the Closing Ceremony of The World Games at the newly constructed stadium. What a party it turned out to be!


From DanceSport's success at The World Games 2009 evolved the idea to host the inaugural edition of the World DanceSport Games in Kaohsiung too. These games became a reality in 2013.
