Series of WDSF Competition Series, part 2/3
The New Sports Series is a competition format which differs from the other competitions at the final stage of the competition.
The semi-final will be the same format as any WDSF title event: with 12 couples, and with AJS adjudicating system.
Good to Know: the WDSF New Sports Series
1. Eight couples will qualify for the final, which will be danced in a Duel (Battle) format. There will be a total of 12 duels in 3 stages. Each stage will have 4 duels. The seeding in the bracket is based on the semi-final result.
2. The music length is 2,5 mins / medley of three dances.
3. The bracket for the final:
1st stage: C/R/J or W/T/QS
Duel 1: 4th ranked couple vs. 8th ranked couple
Duel 2: 3rd ranked couple vs. 7th ranked couple
Duel 3: 2nd ranked couple vs. 6th ranked couple
Duel 4: 1st ranked couple vs. 5th ranked couple
2nd stage: PD/R/S or W/VW/SF
Duel 5: Losers of Duel 1 vs. Losers of Duel 3
Duel 6: Losers of Duel 2 vs. Losers of Duel 4
Duel 7: Winners of Duel 1 vs Winners of Duel 3
Duel 8: Winners of Duel 2 vs Winners of Duel 4
3rd stage: S/C/J or T/SF/QS
Duel 9: The battle for the 7th place: Losers of the Duel 5 vs. Losers of the Duel 6
Duel 10: The battle for the 5th place: Winners of the Duel 5 vs. Winners of the Duel 6
Duel 11: The battle for the 3rd place: Losers of the Duel 7 vs. Losers of the Duel 8
Duel 12: The battle for the 1st place: Winners of the Duel 7 vs. Winners of the Duel 8
4. The first edition of the New Sports Series saw light in Singapore in August 2019.
The editions of the New Sports Series in 2019 and 2020 act also as the WDSF World Games Qualifying Events.
