Meet the Mascots

Mascots

You may well have seen them already on the organisers' website www.2013wdsg.tw: two mascots that were designed for the World DanceSport Games 2013 by Ti-Wan Kung and her team of the Shu-Te University here in Kaohsiung. The same team did the logo, slogan and all the other games visuals too.

We learned today that - as of very recently - the two likeable characters have names assigned to them too. We're not entirely certain whether we are able to reperesent these names correctly here, but let's give it try anyway. In Chinese we believe that the male dancer is 舞高 (which could translate into "Dance Kao") and the female dancer is called 蹈 雄 (Sport Shiung). So it's virtually all in the name.

Dance and Sport will get introduced to the press tomorrow with a short video shown during a media event held at the Kaohsiung Crown Plaza. Be among the first to enjoy the video (and bear in mind that it is still in the draft stages).
