"It’s hard to say exactly what’s hiding behind the Iron Curtain, Alex Fitzpatrick writes for TIME magazine. "There was a fireworks test this week, so we can safely expect some Putin-approved pyrotechnics."

"Andrei Boltenko, a Moscow director who runs an eponymous entertainment production group that specializes in TV events, is the guy in charge of producing the ceremony itself," writes  Kelsey Campbell - Dollaghan for GIZMODO. Adding that "even Putin, apparently, has been showing up for rehearsals."
