Focus on Central America

WDSF continues with its efforts to create the appropriate structures for DanceSport to develop in Central and South America. Joan Cayuela was dispatched to Guatemala City, GUT, to provide new trainers with the know-how required to obtain an F-level licence for Latin and to start teaching themselves.

23 prospective trainers from around Guatemala and another seven from neighboughring El Salvador attended. After three days of lectures and hands-on lessons at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee, Cayuela reports that the trainers' "talent and exceptional motivation ensure a bright future for DanceSport in both countries."

The National Member Body for Guatemala will stage its first international competition in February 2016.
