Ecuador For the latter, the Ecuadorean DanceSport Federation invited ten athletes from each Latin American country, assuming the costs for their transfers, lodging and meals. 86 athletes from abroad joined 36 from Ecuador for the two-day event. The Latin Open was contested by 31 couples from seven countries, the Standard Open by 24 couples from again seven countries.

Latin American Latin and Standard competitions saw an even higher number of entries: 170 athletes altogether.
