Call for PD candidates for the Athletes Commission
The WDSF Athletes Commission is looking for candidates to be elected as the representative for the Professional Division (PD).
The WDSF Athletes Commission (AC) is a permanent commission of the WDSF Presidium that consists of athletes who are elected solely by other WDSF athletes. The AC represents the interest of the athletes, advises the Presidium on matters that are relevant to the athletes, and works to improving the communication between the Presidium and the athletes.
For our PD representative we are looking for a candidate who:
- Is an active WDSF PD athlete;
- Has a longstanding history of dancing WDSF competitions;
- Has a good understanding of how the WDSF and its eco system operates;
- Has had or still has a position in the Athletes Commission of his/her National Member Federation;
- Is proficient in the English language.
All active athletes from the PD may now volunteer or be nominated as candidates providing they are 18 years or over (at the time of the elections).
Any active athlete of the PD meeting the requirements may submit his or her candidacy together with a resume and reasons or statement for candidacy, to the following e-mail address by 20 June 2023, 17:00 CET: [email protected]g
Following your submission to the AC, each candidate will need to be approved and after approval will be added to the list as an eligible candidate.
We will be conducting a physical election at the German Open Championships in Stuttgart on 8 & 10 August 2023 and conduct parallel electronic elections from 1 August 2023 00:00 CET up to and including 7 August 2023 23:59 CET. Further instructions on the electronic voting will be issued once the candidates are known. If we have one eligible candidate, no elections will be held and this person becomes the representative.
One of the candidates approved by the Commission as qualified under the WDSF Athletes Commission Operating Policy will be elected to serve a 4-year term as a member of the Athletes Commission.
