Call for Asian candidates for the Athletes Commission
The WDSF Athletes Commission is looking for candidates for election as the Asian representative.
The WDSF Athletes Commission (AC) is a permanent commission of the WDSF Presidium that consists of athletes who are elected solely by other WDSF athletes. The AC represents the interest of the athletes, advises the Presidium on matters that are relevant to the athletes, and works to improving the communication between the Presidium and the athletes.
For our Asian representative we are looking for a candidate who:
- Is an active WDSF athlete
- Has a history of dancing WDSF competitions
- Has a good understanding of how the WDSF and its eco system operates
- Preferably has had or still has a position in the Athletes Commission of his/her National Member Federation
- Is proficient in the English language.
All athletes from the Asian countries and 18 years of age or over (at the time of the elections) may now volunteer or be nominated as candidates. That includes the age categories Youth (when you are at least 18 years of age), Under 21 (when you are at least 18 years of age), Adult, PD and Senior.
Any active athlete meeting the requirements who resides in Asia may submit his or her candidacy together with a resume and reasons or statement for candidacy, to the following e-mail address by 9 June 2023, 23:59 CET: [email protected].
We will be conducting a physical election at the World Championships Standard Adults and the Grand Slam Standard & Latin American in Wuxi, China, on 21-23 July 2023 and conduct electronic elections from 24 July 2023 00:00 CET up to and including 30 July 2023 23:59 CET. Further instructions on the electronic voting will be issued once the candidates are known. If we have one eligible candidate, no elections will be held and this person automatically becomes the representative.
One of the candidates approved by the Commission as qualified under the WDSF Athletes Commission Operating Policy will be elected to serve a 4-year term as a member of the Athletes Commission.
Please send us your nominations!
Many thanks.
On behalf of the Athletes Commission
