Breaking to Feature at Asian Games Nagoya 2026

Asian Games Nagoya

The WDSF is delighted to announce that Breaking has been officially included as a DanceSport discipline at the prestigious Asian Games Nagoya 2026.

This marks one more achievement in the global recognition of Breaking and reinforces its growing status as a competitive sport.

Breaking competitions at the Asian Games will offer an exciting opportunity for elite B-Boys and B-Girls from across Asia to showcase their skills on an international stage. The inclusion of Breaking in the Asian Games aligns with the sport’s increasing prominence, following its successful debut at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 and its memorable appearance in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The WDSF encourages National Member Bodies to begin preparations and support their Breaking athletes in their journey toward the Asian Games. This milestone event presents a unique chance for dancers to compete at the highest level, further solidifying Breaking’s place in the DanceSport ecosystem.

More details regarding the competition dates, qualification system and event format will be released in due course.

Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to this groundbreaking event!
