An Unqualified Success

Shanghai, CHN - 13 December © Yi Not even our distributors in the U.S. had expected that airing the World DanceSport GrandSlam Series would end up being the overwhelming success that it was.

"Six one-hours can be tough for stations to place, particularly in a packed fall schedule," is how Nimmi Singh, the WDSF representative vis-à-vis the broadcasters, put it when she got started. "However, programmers loved the series and despite the challenges, gave it great placement in their schedules."

Aired 1997 times until now, with a total market coverage of 69.56% and available in 39 of the top 50 U.S. television markets - 8 of the top 10 markets (New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington, DC, Houston and Atlanta) - and 61% of it during primetime and early/late fringe hours, the figures confirm the great success that DanceSport had on U.S. public televison.
