2011 European Masters Games

Kai Holm, IMGA President "Senior" or "veteran" are the terms most often used to describe a mature athlete. "Masters" are competitors who comply with an International Federation's rules regarding a defined minimum age in their respective sport, normally between 30 and 40 years.

Most Masters' sports are organised in different age classes reflecting intervals of five to ten years between one and the other. In some sports they go up to a class for octogenarians!

Participants in the Masters Games may be former world or national champions, Olympians, national representatives or club athletes. They participate for a multitude of reasons, with the level of competition ranging from elite to the more social. Participants compete as individuals and not in national teams.

After International World Masters Games Association President Kai Holm, pictured above on the left, welcomed IDSF as a new member to his organisation in April 2010, athletes in DanceSport, aged 35 or over, have now the opportunity to enter the 2013 World Masters Games in Turin, Italy.

2011 EMG Even prior to that, they should consider to travel to Italy for the 2011 European Masters Games. They will be held in Lignano and they will include DanceSport too. Standard and Latin contests in different age classes are held on 17 and 18 September 2011 at the Lignano Sabbiadoro Sports Hall.
