2010 World Leisure Games: DanceSport
Chun Cheon, Korea, was the proud host of the First World Leisure Games. Under the games' motto of “Improving the quality of life through leisure experiences!”, over 13,000 athletes from 50 countries gathered in Chun Cheon City for six national and nine international sporting competitions staged from 28 August to 5 September 2010.
The Games were held at the Songram Sports Town, located at the heart of the Korean peninsula. Surrounded by clean lakes, greenery and serene settings, the athletes were housed at ski resort condominiums about an hour’s drive from the town. The sports featured through top-level contests at the formidable Songram venues were action sports (radical BMX and skateboarding) billiards, air sports (aeromodelling and paragliding), climbing, inline skating, Korean kickball, paragliding, water skiing, wakeboarding and DanceSport, the latter including breakdancing.
