Ko de Mooy † 20/06/2013

Ko de Moo † As its first order of business on 16 June in Shanghai, CHN, the General Meeting of the World DanceSport Federation awarded the WDSF Long and Distinguished Service Award posthumously to Mr Ko de Mooy (1937 - 2013).

WDSF President Carlos Freitag held the laudatio and emphasised the Anti-Doping Director's commitment to the fight against doping in DanceSport. Even in the face of death, Ko had worked incessantly for WDSF  and its athlete as commission chair, thus leaving the federation with a top-notch anti-doping programme as his legacy.

The delegates to the Annual General Meeting honoured Ko de Mooy with a long ovation.

Ko's wife, Jeanne de Mooy - van der Wegen, receives the award. She writes to the World DanceSport Federation:

Expression of Thanks

The many marks of sympathy received at the death of my husband Ko de Mooy was an immense support. Especially the support given by cards and letters accompanied by personal words of consolation are very dear and comforting. Thank you very much.
